Creative Canvases

We proudly hosted our first-ever event as an organization—Creative Canvases. A Painting Night that brought the community together for an evening of creativity and connection. Participants enjoyed an evening filled with creative expression. It was a successful start to our mission of building community through shared experiences.

Iftar Night

We plan to host many more annual Iftar nights during the month of Ramadan. These gatherings are filled with delicious food, warm conversations, and a sense of community.

Community Hike

Me&U hosted its first-ever event of the summer, a community hike, where participants came together to explore local trails and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Self Care Night

We hosted a Self-Care Night designed to empower and educate young women on the importance of self-care. Participants engaged in creative activities like friendship bracelet making and tote bag painting. The evening also featured group and self discussions, allowing everyone to share their thoughts and experiences on what self care means to them.

Let's go Skating!

This winter skating event was the perfect opportunity for youth to try something new, build confidence, and simply enjoy themselves in a welcoming environment. With skates, a private rink, and warm food being provided to every youth participant, the day made everyone feel like they belonged.

Time to Bake-Off!

This 4-week program provided youth with hands-on culinary experience and learned life skills, to compete in a bake-off contest. From budgeting, recipe planning, and shopping, the event gave youth the chance to grow and lead, all while having fun in a space just made for them.

Canada's Wonderland Trip

Our Canada’s Wonderland trip gave youth a full day to unwind, explore and just have fun. From navigating the park to hyping each other up on the rides, this event proved how powerful shared experiences can be in building confidence and connection for youth. Our trip was so much more than just a fun day at an amusement park; it was about reminding youth that even the smallest moments of joy can leave a big impact.

Summer Kick-Off

Hosted at the beautiful Laurel Creek Conservation Area, our 2025 Summer Kick-Off brought Black Muslim youth together for a day of laughter, connection and good food. As the school year wrapped up, with some youth even celebrating graduation, it was the perfect time to slow down and recognize how far we have come together as a community. From games, karaoke and deep conversations, this event created the space for youth to feel a true sense of belonging.
